The following relationships help us convert one unit of length into another.
1 metre = 100 centimetres or 1 m = 100 cm × 1000 × 100 × 10
1 kilometre = 1000 metres or 1 km = 1000 m km m cm mm
Metres into Centimetres ÷ 1000 ÷ 100 ÷ 10
To convert metres into centimetres, multiply the number of metres by 100.
examples: a. 4 m = (4 × 100) cm = 400 cm
b. 17 m = (17 × 100) cm = 1700 cm
